Another reminder that a 13-year study found that protected bike-lanes led to a drastic decline in fatalities for all road users.

The 27 year old woman who was killed in Cork yesterday was cycling on a 50kph street in an urban area.

The default 30kph limit promised by the govt may not have saved her life but it will save lives in the future. We can't allow them to renege on that promise.

The Department of Transport is failing to implement the legislation that was passed only last year to introduce a default 30km/h speed limit. Their excuse, that it is hard to define an urban road, is laughable.
