14 years ago, my husband's older brother was killed in a car accident when a boy ran a stop sign. Funny, how I can still hear this. I miss my brother from another mother.

Well, I think I am just going to start over here. I'm D.A. Power. I write magical realism Upper MG/YA. How are you all?

So they say authors should run an email list to grow an audience. That's all well and good, except for one thing: I'm boring. And I'm private. What would I possibly say that could be remotely interesting to anyone beyond "Here is my new cover reveal" or announcing the next publication date?

Do you like books w/80's nostalgia, friendships, magical realism, shenanigans, and even a little romance? Check out my series, "The Asher Chronicles" named for the MC, Celeste Asher, who's "recording" these adventures. Ages 10+.

I guess you could say that. We are still here. It's a long story, but I think we have. They still have yet to actually talk to us.

Well, I think I told you what had happened back in the fall with our landlords and our kids. That as a big reason, because I didn't know what was going to happen.

So much has happened in the last year. I didn't think I could publish my second book at all. The odds were seemingly against me with lots of bad luck and events. I am just so happy it happened, no matter what happens with it.

Yeah, that's a post from the other place, but I figured I could use it here (My friend made it for me.) So yeah, today is my 51st birthday!

I've always wanted to publish a book on my birthday. Tomorrow, it will come true.

My paperback and ebook of Cowboys & Queens (The Asher Chronicles 2) are set to publish on January 14th next week, which happens to be my birthday! My hardcover might take a little longer to go live. If I get a preorder link for any of those, I will post those here. Otherwise, stay tuned!

A bit of publishing news: On Friday, I uploaded the hardcover of my book "Cowboys & Queens (The Asher Chronicles 2)" to Ingram Spark. I'm waiting to hear back if they approve my file or not before publishing it. On Wednesday, I will attempt to upload my ebook and paperback versions. So much closer.
