Meanwhile, things that are definitively genocides get routinely ignored by politicians over mass protest

"Genocide" and "War Crimes" are two concepts that belong to a unique class: ideas that should carry moral weight and that people believe carry moral weight but all modern evidence points overwhelmingly to the contrary.
