This picture has been in circulation for many years; itโ€™s real. People have been taking โ€œselfiesโ€ since cameras were invented and long before cell phones were around.

"self-perception"? I'd go with "reality" but I just live here.

So appreciate the time, effort, and creative energy you and the Nomadic team have invested in CC - very meaningful (and totally unique) content, especially during these last few years. Cannot wait for this new iteration, thank you.

How would this hurt the homeless? Did you read the article? Nothing is being taken away but instead trying to find a balance to address serious problems caused by the homeless and drug addicts while managing an important program and protecting the non-homeless and non-drug addicts.

Mind you, this was the march after the speakers - I stood at that same vantage point on the Morrison Bridge for 15 minutes today and it looked exactly like that the entire time; the crowd today in Portland was enormous, engaged, and not fucking around.

Why should public money be used to build sports stadiums? But many economists maintain that states and cities that help pay for new stadiums and arenas rarely get their moneyโ€™s worth. Teams tout new jobs created by the arenas but construction jobs are tempor...

Reposting as the links in the original didn't work! Endless studies & reporting on how taxpayer-funded stadiums for billionaire sports team owners leave taxpayers without promised return. For example: taxfoundation.org/blog/sports-...

Read my response above to see some "homework" on how publicly-funded stadiums fail to deliver. Endless studies and reporting on this issue. By saying "There's *no* risk" you reveal yourself to be an unserious participant in the convo - and you still haven't offered anything other than vague opinion.

Repeating a fact-less sales pitch bullet point doesn't make it true, especially in the face of tons of evidence to the contrary.

Talk to the folks at Providence Park, Keser Stadium, Autzen Stadium, Hillsboro Hops - existing seasonal, minimum wage job markets up and down the valley without an $800 million entry point shouldered by the taxpayers with little to no return for the state, which has much higher priorities. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

20.03.2025 20:15 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 4    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 0    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

Total folly and tone deaf given the current state of things. Donโ€™t talk to me about seasonal minimum wage jobs or taxes on ballplayers. Sorry guys, this isnโ€™t a priority for the people of Oregon. Zero public funding is the only way this should proceed - let those who will cash in take the risk.
