Neither the Gospels nor liberation theology are rightly understood if they are understood to eternalize and endorse poverty rather than proclaiming the dignity of *the poor* and God's will that their material needs should *be met*

The good news Jesus proclaims to the hungry isn't that God likes it when people are hungry and they should be hungry because hunger is blessed - the hungry are blessed *in the promise of eating and being filled*

And, while we’re on the topic, I’ll get on another old soapbox of mine: if your congregation has an AED, I strongly encourage you to consider adding two EpiPens and a stop the bleed kit to it, or getting a stand alone bleeding control station for wall mount.

Imagine being a fairly recent convert to a faith & then having the leader publicly call you out for pushing bad theology. Ouch.

We have moved so far into the world of moral relativity that the mere fact some number of folks believes something makes it worthy of engagement. And I just think that's wrong. Some things are just right out. And we need to tell the folks we're in relationship so.

"As Trump's tyrannical power grabs spark outrage, there's hope. Traveling the country as co-chair of [DSA], I hear a common trend in every conversation. What people want are fighters. People who will fight for them, their families, their co-workers, and their communities."

Don't let the haters and losers get in your head... The "Resistance" didn't go too far. It didn't go far enough.

The only way to win is to fight for our rights as hard as we can, for as many and as much as we can.

We know it works! And so do they.
