Al Jazeera cracked this "enigma":

This school had many daughters of military officers and soldiers. The idea was to attract them to the school, strike it to draw in rescuers and relatives, and then strike it again to kill them.

Not only did the US, per its own ‘intelligence,’ bomb this girls primary school, THEY BOMBED IT TWICE.

it’s great that if you are too busy to read the news for a day or two right now you get a jump scare when you try to catch up

Granted, my experience with bsky is entirely my own fault, since my following feed has devolved into unfiltered negativity all the time (thanks, news) and I don't have much real community here, nor the time to cultivate one. I'll probably stick around, but I can only do a few seconds at a time.

The only social media that doesn't immediately try to hijack and fuck up my entire brain is tumblr. I have no idea what to do with that information. What was once the messiest and most cursed webbed site on the internet has suddenly become the healthiest little support group. Everywhere else sucks.

But he didn't have to yuck your yum I guess. I dunno. Everyone is wrong today.

I think you're taking this comment too personally because our toddler is being extra toddler today and we just spent a ton of money. But he's right in the sense that no one is "exempt" from passive enabling of consumerism, and pretending EV owners are an elite chosen doesn't solve the crisis either

One of my colleagues wrote about this over 30 years ago, noting that Congress was all about "blame avoidance" in foreign policy, which basically made the president a king

We bought an electric car today. Partner planned for months, finally saw the one he wanted, slightly used. Hooray for family vehicle, since we’ve had the same old Honda Civic since we were dating. Going electric as US bombs Iran feels uhhhhhhh… let’s say the used electric car place was *busy* today.

there are a lot of people working in the government right now who want to intentionally trigger an apocalypse to create the conditions for the return of jesus christ and I know how crazy that sounds but its absolutely true

If you are in any way curious about qigong, talk to me. While far from an expert, I've been researching nonstop and can give some decent pointers to fellow beginners, so you don't end up wasting your time on unitiated arm waving or scammers.

Since the injury, I've been doing almost an hour of qigong a day. It's like magic. Started with a hybrid yoga/PT casual community center class, and now I'm getting into the deep cuts like Zhan Zuang, Flying Phoenix, and Ba Duan Jin. Might take a course? I dunno. It's been like a miracle.

It really did feel like getting struck by lightning. Twice. First when I fell down and needed an ambulance, and then the next morning, when I did some entry-level qigong breathing and got qi-blasted by healing light and could suddenly stand. Skeptic me can't explain it. It happened.

I'm a convert.

Have my 2nd PT appointment this afternoon; we'll see if I even need more after this. I've been MIA from the internet because all I do is qigong now. Spirit saw my sedentary ass and was like (lighting bolt) your prescription is *endless standing meditations.*

I'd rather do that than spinal surgery.

Partner described tonights' stomach gurling thus: "like a wooden barrel thundering down a deep well."

The horrors commence!

At least this time I'll have some home-grown cannabis medicine to take the edge off the craziest bits. Pros of making a bunch of low-dose edibles for Mom's chemo nausea.

Gonna restart the NAC Protocol, because I've been sick with daycare crud for months. Last time, it knocked some ancient crud loose; as much as I could handle, anyway. Here's hoping it wrings out even more fungal gunk this time. But. Hoo boy. I am not looking forward to reuniting with oregano oil.

KMBC: "A woman tried to set a fire at a South Kansas City warehouse that had been rumored as a possible ICE detention center. Earlier today, the company that owns the property confirmed it is no longer moving forward with a sale to the U.S. government."

On Nov. 16, a mental health counselor recorded in Kamilla’s medical records that her mother reported the girl had lost her appetite after being “served food that contained worms.”

A week later, the couple said, children were told to gather in the gym for what they believed would be a Thanksgiving celebration. Excitement spread as families saw tables set with turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, they said. The children waited expectantly. But when a parent asked when the celebration would begin, Oksana said, staff told them the holiday meal was for employees, not detainees.

The children, she said, watched despondently as the feast was packed away.

On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.
