Not all, but he did win majority vote.
I think it's fair to say he's very must so is representative of us. No other president has gained the intense loyalty of such a high % of us that it's hard to argue he isn't a reflection of us.
It sucks.
Fair to be upset with how your taxes are being spent but that's got nothing to do with folks who don't have a job.
31.10.2025 18:04 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0oh I know being poor *really* sucks.
I get being upset at paying taxes especially when we don't always agree with how they're spent, but it's crazy corny to act like you're getting the raw end of the deal here lol
if having a job and paying taxes sucks enough to complain about others who don't have a job then my advice is to quit your job, stop paying taxes and start living that good life
duh
I promise y'all I will get this updated with better content!
The plan was to add a bit here and there so it's always fresh but I got busy and underestimated the task.
I'll probably pause this today and boot it back up when I have a full month's worth of content.

How do we expect kids to learn in this environment?

24.10.2025 21:35 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0there are ways to avoid jail time when caught it's still fairly lenient but ultimately it's forced treatment and facilities that are overloaded.
It's a mess. A lot of blame on local leaders of course but it would be hard regardless since Portland itself does attract more folks because it's ...
we just decriminalized so sadly no safe supply. overdoses continued to rise during our 4 years of decrim.
even today we are not able to handle treatment our facilities are all at capacity.
it's a big problem we just are failing at and sadly we're back to disappearing the problem to jails
Oregon had the courage to be first but not the courage to stick it out. We are still more lenient but trending backwards.
I just hope the next state that tries to do this learns from our mistakes. Decrim is good but idk if people were ready to see what the problems looked like in full
Sorry if I wasn't more clear. I think we're 100% on the same page. I suppose I was just saying that moves in the direction that we did I would hate to see it walked back because I believe in decrim/legal, but that will happen if expectations are wrong and proper support doesn't exist.
24.10.2025 21:19 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Be real clear: if you give a damn about climate change, Millard is not the candidate for you. It is _not_ penalizing drivers to build out ped/bike/bus infrastructure; it is actually providing more opportunities for people to get around that are not driving a car.

23.10.2025 14:00 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Locking folks up is not the answer, it actively works against our goals, so I'm not suggesting we do this. Just that we need to realize that in some ways things will get worse, as they did in Oregon, when we decrim because we will actually be facing the true problem.
23.10.2025 14:00 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I hope other states learn from this, because decriminalization and legalization are the path forward, but we need to be honest with ourselves that this problem is pretty bad and it's going to take decades to get us out of it. Some folks will never get clean sadly.
23.10.2025 14:00 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 4 ๐ 0We decriminalized drugs here in Oregon and it didn't go well. I wasn't surprised. But I was sad the state gave up after only a few years.
The current approach to disappear drug users only obfuscates the problem with no real solution and under decrim the problems were just more visible.

22.10.2025 02:43 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I wonder if relegating SFH's to HOAs would be enough to limit their existence.
I could see this further incentivising more HOAs though which is already a problem in many areas where it's hard to purchase a home outside of one.
