Diving into China Miéville’s work for the first time, starting with The City & The City.

Pretty good thus far. His prose is lush but tight. It seems this one is special as it was dedicated to his mother and it certainly feels like hard, honest work went into its creation.

Working on second drafts for two short stories so I can have a little more wiggle room when it comes to what I choose for my MFA portfolio. I have another in my back pocket that still needs to be drafted.

Gotta walk (writing short stories) until I can run (writing novels).

After months of work (on and off) I finally completed this short story and submitted it to a contest.
