I can't express how meaningful it is to have my art impact someone in this way

I've been through this in the past and it happens again from time to time

persistence and patience (esp. patience!) are key: you still got this, it's just a temporary situation and you might need more warm-up time than before

but if you can, take some time to cool off
burnouts can be very serious

I still wanted to be an illustrator, and what got me out of the woods was making silly zines and Magic: the Gathering

I'd create my own MtG tokens for my decks and that inspired me to practice and study and improve

the mix or therapy and constant practice was essential for my confidence

during those 7 years I was going through a big crisis w/ my art and art as a career

I was very insecure about my drawings and wouldn't even practice

I had different jobs: waiter, assistant manager, art teacher, english teacher...

eventually I started therapy and that was the turning point

I grew up drawing dinosaurs as a hobby.

when I was 20 I got into art school.

I worked as a tattoo artist for 3 years but didn't vibe with it.
at that time, I had a class about book illustration and fell in love with it.

it took me 7 years to build up courage and pursue illustration as a career
