Thatβs one heck of a photograph. I love the eye detail. And LTT are so photogenic.
These swans are actually displaying the #ShoutItOut theme for #BirdOfTheDay. Theyβre just mute.
Iβll grab my coat thenβ¦β¦

Saw the first butterfly this year in the garden today. Heart lifted. Looking forward to seeing these beasts again. I love this shot by DW
#BirdOfTheDay theme is #PerfectLighting a bird capture in good lighting. Back in December we had some sunshine and we came across this Dunlin.

#BirdOfTheDay theme is #FourOrMore, more in this case. It wasnβt so much a flock, more like cloud of sand martin. There were scores of them. July 2022

Also at Blickling, I was struck by our societal fawning over cruelty.
For those not familiar with peersβ robes, every black dot is the tail of the stoat whose pelt surrounds it.
Read Nick Hayesβs superb The Book of Trespass for an account of the nastiness involved in acquiring most great estates.
Gorgeous

The next NNNS event is on Sunday 8th March 2026 at 17:45 (note the unusual time). A walk at West Runton led by Garth Coupland to look for amphibians. Note that it will be dark - a torch is essential (a head torch desirable). For fuller details see: norfolknaturalists.org.uk/wp/events-pa...
I love the Lino print too.
Havenβt seen a grey wagtail for many years. And I love watching siskins on the feeders. Great photos.
@alan678.bsky.social chose #PrimaryColours for the #BirdOfTheDay theme.
I offer one of many goldfinches making free use of our knapweed crop. So we get the colour of the flowers and the bonus colour of the birds. Win win.

Classic
Loving what Georgina is doing here. Itβs got great energy.
Gosh!!!
Thank you. We were blessed with its presence for several minutes. It would been a disservice not photograph its beauty.
For the benefit of Mr Kite
There will be a show in sight above our green.
The hens below will cluck and stare as Mr Kite flies through the air, what a scene.
With thanks & apologies to those Liverpudlian chaps

We have a lot of chaffinches visit us. They usually eat off the floor, but some fancy all the food in the feeders, but they are rubbish at it. For years I see them fly and peck. Until this year, we now have some male chaffinches bossing the feeders. #BestoftheMonth #BirdoftheDay #BirdsSeenIn2026
