It brings me joy that I can still find new strategies in this game that I started designing about eight years ago. Beet and Onion combo is good, only gets tricky when you get down to two Beets in hand!

I'm sure plenty of people take this simple game at face value, but I could nerd out at length about the strengths and weaknesses of different cards, combinations, and counterplays.

Even the simplest rulesets in games can lead to incredible emerging complexities.

Phew, I feel this. I've tried to figure out why I feel more comfortable playtesting with friends over public design groups these days and this is part of the reason why. It's also hard to explain to most people why unsolicited "take a look at my game" emails make me so angry 😅
