Almost all new tech seems to be designed to better exploit ppl in "both lives" and make things worse for everyone except the ones who control it. To make it easier for them to kill, lie and steal with total impunity while we put money in their pockets.

"Don't be online" is obvs not a practical solution with how much life is lived on the internet today. Existing just becomes exhausting to the point of numbness while being expected to function at highest capacity to keep a job. Secure income to throw at subscriptions to make real life more bearable.

Racing two races at all times that don't appreciably overlap, for the most part, is entirely unsustainable but it's also just excpected. And the cognitive dissonance of "I have to work my job while strangers online send me death threats and bots try to scam me out of what money I have" is wild.

Constantly struggling on two fronts is so tiring. IRL a lot of us struggle with SO much shit while at the same time having to deal online with unprecedented misinformation, constant lies, new tech that seeks to worsen *everything* and tons of scams in environments most of us can't feasbily escape.

Okay real talk, the only sense in which GenAI is "here to stay" is that even after the bubble pops, AI is digital asbestos that is poisoning everything and we'll probably be picking the detritus out of everywhere it's ended up for years, assuming there's a will to remove it en masse that is.

There is def overlap between these groups and said fans but it's most certaintly NOT just them. The thing were they changed Sonic's design for the movie in production, THAT was "angry fans". We're talking "I don't like Sonic's human toesies" vs "don't accelerate climate change to write an email"

I really dislike the "angry fans" angle tbh. This is more like everyone who's work's been stole for the Sloppificator 2000, everyone who gives a single shit about the environment. Everyone who's livliehood is threatened by overzealous CEO's that gulped down too much of the Altman Kool Aid.

Right?! It's so disheartening to see that people turn to the slop machine that boils us alive to generate garbage that will go viral (and that shockingly few people question given what's going on) instead of just...idk, taking a video of the neighbours cat or dog or whatever. Just makes me so sad.

On top of literally everything that's fucked with Al, one of the things I most hate about it is that it ruined one of the last bits of real joy and whimsy we had left in this fucked up place: Funny animal videos. When I see one now, all I do is try to figure out if its slop. This shit sucks so much.
