They (and the Skyrim books) are very nice collectibles! No new art or lore but it's fun to see that stuff physically.

If you want something with art/lore you may not have seen before, Emperor's Guide is cheap online these days. (All the content is on TIL but it's very nicely formatted in the book)

Over the past year, we've been slowly building a book with over 130 new spells for 5e, all based on canonical Elder Scrolls magic. I am so proud of how this turned out and I'm very excited to share it with everyone. This was a huge effort by a group of people, made better with feedback from fans.

For what it's worth, I've had two strikes out of a dozen pieces. And there's thousands of other listings on Etsy. So it's not 100% enforcement, just something to be aware of.

Everyone making money from IP they don't own is technically breaking the law. We're at the mercy of the IP owners. I'm not looking to get anything overturned, just warning people that the attitude towards selling TES merch has changed and they should be aware.

It's still not something they can do anything about or even know anything about. First thing I did when I got the 1st notice is get in touch with my contact at Bethesda to see if they had any info on a policy change-- they couldn't tell me anything.

Let's please not tag the social media team about this, they don't have anything to do with these sorts of decisions and no power to do anything about them. It's all corporate lawyer stuff, not their fault.

Did you know that Elder Scrolls Online was originally going to look like this? You can still see some of this more WoW aesthetic in the earlier zones and armors, but Skyrim came along, did extremely well, and the art style pivoted.

Every time you post this sort of meme I get 1% closer to a 10,000 word essay about the ways in which it doesn't suck, the ways in which it sucks, ways that it could be made to not suck, and ways in which it must remain sucking in order for the game to work as a whole.

It's mostly from me looking at all the cool stuff folks are doing for ArtFight and being sad it's for one month only and locked behind an account. I'm not a roleplayer/OC-haver myself, but I love seeing other people's!

I own elderscrolls.social (currently used for custom bluesky handles), but it's moderately expensive for _just_ that. So, opening the floor: what other community type stuff would folks like to have?

Bio pages for OCs? Hosting for creators (webring style!)? Some sort of TES-specific art gallery?

A little experiment where I tried to blend the lineart more into the rest of the painting. Decided to share it, even though it's unfinished. 👀
