I was a little shocked at that too. The cast in Bugonia was excellent.
The funniest hit-by-pitch you'll ever see
"This movie failed politically because its politics were compromised by its plot and its characters" is why, I want to say this gently, some people should never be allowed to speak about culture publicly.
Movies are political and it's good to discuss their politics, but if you view a film primarily as an ideology delivery system that is caked in stupid art and entertainment and pleasure that it uses to distract the dumb unwashed and make What It Is Really Saying palatable, you might be the problem.

Made a cute little bunny last night. I did learn the hard way that printing a multi-colour print generates so much filament waste, especially when it’s a small print and it has to swap filament a lot.
Also, last Firefly thought of the day, (I hope) but that particular spaceship-sized hole in my life was handily filled by The Expense. I’d much rather have the last few books worth of story put on screen than more Firefly at this point.
Wonder if we’ll get a News Radio reunion show but it’s just Andy Dick and Joe Rogan.
Seems about what we deserve these days.
If this Firefly animated series ever gets off the ground, then the first episode better have the characters talking about how sad it was when Jayne was eaten by Reavers five months back.
The "we waited twenty years for this!?" chat re Firefly is funny man. You got a movie! You got comics! You might get an original cast animated show! For a 6/10 scifi show that didn't even get a full season order it's not had a bad run, christ.
Maybe the funniest thing about Nathan Fillion being so moved to bring Firefly back (again????) is he is in an astonishingly long-tenured ABC procedural AND he was kind of a breakout in the new DC's tentpole project which teed him up for probably 12 more projects in that vein.
I am cautiously optimistic about this Firefly news but am bummed that they’re keeping Baldwin in it. Jayne could be off mining an asteroid or whatever so we don’t have to have his shadow cast over it.
That said, I’ll watch it if it gets made but my excitement dimmed to a dull ember 20 years ago.
Adam Baldwin was literally *the* guy who named GamerGate and made it go viral. It was just some loser 4chan/incel YouTuber shit before then. They spammed him to get his attention because they knew he’s also a psycho loser and they wanted to make it go viral, and he did it. And it worked.
20+ years ago, I was a Firefly fan, first pulled in by Ben Edlund being on the writing staff. Years before fans learned that Whedon sucked, Baldwin was a right wing reactionary back in the Obama era. I thought the general fandom feeling was “only bring back Firefly if you kill off Jayne”
glad the guy who coined the word “gamergate” will be returning in “chinese space opera without Chinese people: the animated series”
Any time I see a headline like this I think about the time they made a Napoleon Dynamite cartoon “WITH THE ENTIRE ORIGINAL CAST!” and realized they could just do that because no one involved was doing anything else
As if I didn’t already have close to zero interest in ever owning an Xbox again, this pushes it into negative territory.
I just envision this Copilot for gaming like being an annoying sibling or friend who natters at you as you try to figure out a game.
As raph koster put it, what we call "fun" is in fact learning the game.
As stanislas dehaene puts it , failing is the requirement to learning. Be prevented to fail and you can never learn.
Be prevented to fail, and you can never have fun.

I'm not celebrating the Ides of March, I'm keeping the Stabbath
My Ides of March fun fact is that the place where Caesar was stabbed is now a cat sanctuary, and I think it’s beautiful that creatures with tiny knives on their feet live there

Got fired from the Chex Mix factory after they caught me sneaking a 6th pumpernickel chip into each bag.
This continues to highlight that we have the capacity to make this world a better place but that folks are out there actively trying to stop it for profit and power (which usually results in more profit). Sigh.
I'm home and I've written a bit on my blog about post-GDC feelings:
