People in church vestments standing behind a lectern which is flanked by candles.
Three people in robes wash the feet of a woman.
A procession of the Blessed Sacrament, led by a man carrying a processional cross and two people with candles, followed by a person with a thurible and a man in a cope carrying a small metal tin wrapped in a golden cloth.
The altar of repose. So many candles and a lot of lilies.
Maundy Thursday.
βJesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going to God,got up from the table, took off his outer robe, and tied a towel around himself. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciplesβ feet.β

'This has been a place that has shaped my vocation'
@kenson.bsky.social highlights that average age of #GeneralSynod is 58 with 65 members over 70
We need 'prophetically uncomfortable voices of young adults... to become a natural part of this #synod proceedings & deliberations

A young Chinese man is standing up speaking at a lectern, flanked by a panel of white men and women in suits. Some are bishops, one is a priest, one is a lawyer wearing a wig, gown and bands.
Hereβs #Synod Mirfield ordinand @kenson.bsky.social presenting his motion to enable the participation of young people (18-25) in Synod, because we need to hear their voices in order to help us serve the churchβs mission, to listen to each other, to share their vision & to grow their spiritual gifts.

βGive me 3 reasons why I shouldnβt ordain you!β
@kenson.bsky.social on one bishop's hopeful expectation for those being confirmed
'Can we think about how no. of confirmations relates to our no. of ordinands β could be a mission opportunity to find ordinands everywhere'

Especially thankful for @kenson.bsky.social bringing the motion to allow young adults to participate in Synod. As a CEYC member it was important to me that we felt we had representation and were involved with the wider church.

God I loathe the βAI is here to stayβ justification. First of all, many things exist that you neednβt invite into your lives! Poisonous snakes arenβt going anywhere but you arenβt hiring one for the front desk. More to the point in this case, AI is only βhere to stayβ insofar as you KEEP USING IT

Tariro UK is a charity that funds projects for young people in need in Zimbabwe; helping them to learn, to develop and to grow.
Busy day in college today - weβll be carol singing outside the Co-op this afternoon to raise money for the Tariro project in Zimbabwe (tarirouk.com), then this evening weβll be joining together with our friends at St Hild College for a joint Advent service.

The βhumanistβ denial of what I would see as an inseparable and innate religious sensibility of the human is a very white western approach indeed.
Once again, we are being told what we βactually wantβ, whatβs βgood for usβ, and not given a chance to be heard.

incredibly funny that the church of england is falling to bits, the archbishop of canterbury resigned in disgrace, and his predecessor is just combing his eyebrows and murdering jordan peterson in the guardian. you love to see it

A photo of the front cover of issue 1637 of Private Eye magazine with the caption "on shelves now." The front cover reads "Who Will Be the Next Archbishop of Canterbury?" with satirical portraits of various figures wearing archbishop attire, including Paula Vennells, Russell Brand, and Tony Blair, alongside humorous captions.
Who will be the next Archbishop of Canterbury?
