It was a joy for @churchesengland.bsky.social to spend the evening with young leaders from more than 20 of our national Member Churches listening to their stories and sharing the challenges and opportunities of #ecumenism

Thank you to the Ecumenical Patriarchate for hosting

Our new commission, financially supported by The Postlethwaite Music Foundation, was conceived to further the work carried out by @salfordcathmus.bsky.social to reflect their diverse community within the repertoire. For detailed notes on this commission see our Facebook page Multitude of Voyces.

General Synod February 2025 | Thursday 13 Morning YouTube video by The Church of England

My privilege & honour to move the motion supported by the National Society and +Portsmouth. I hope this work to include the voices of young adults @churchofengland.org will continue & not lose its momentum as I leave General Synod in June.

'This has been a place that has shaped my vocation'

@kenson.bsky.social highlights that average age of #GeneralSynod is 58 with 65 members over 70

We need 'prophetically uncomfortable voices of young adults... to become a natural part of this #synod proceedings & deliberations

Here’s #Synod Mirfield ordinand @kenson.bsky.social presenting his motion to enable the participation of young people (18-25) in Synod, because we need to hear their voices in order to help us serve the church’s mission, to listen to each other, to share their vision & to grow their spiritual gifts.

β€˜Give me 3 reasons why I shouldn’t ordain you!’

@kenson.bsky.social on one bishop's hopeful expectation for those being confirmed

'Can we think about how no. of confirmations relates to our no. of ordinands – could be a mission opportunity to find ordinands everywhere'

Especially thankful for @kenson.bsky.social bringing the motion to allow young adults to participate in Synod. As a CEYC member it was important to me that we felt we had representation and were involved with the wider church.

God I loathe the β€œAI is here to stay” justification. First of all, many things exist that you needn’t invite into your lives! Poisonous snakes aren’t going anywhere but you aren’t hiring one for the front desk. More to the point in this case, AI is only β€œhere to stay” insofar as you KEEP USING IT

Home - TARIRO UK, HOPE FOR YOUTH IN ZIMBABWE Tariro UK is a charity that funds projects for young people in need in Zimbabwe; helping them to learn, to develop and to grow.

Busy day in college today - we’ll be carol singing outside the Co-op this afternoon to raise money for the Tariro project in Zimbabwe (tarirouk.com), then this evening we’ll be joining together with our friends at St Hild College for a joint Advent service.

The β€˜humanist’ denial of what I would see as an inseparable and innate religious sensibility of the human is a very white western approach indeed.
Once again, we are being told what we β€˜actually want’, what’s ’good for us’, and not given a chance to be heard.

We are proud to support #WhiteRibbonDay with this year’s theme #ItStartsWithMen putting a spotlight on the role women and men play in preventing violence against women and girls. We strive to Make Jesus Known, we must not use, excuse or remain silent about men’s violence against women.

It was lovely to spend Stir Up Sunday at Little Saint Mary’s, Cambridge, in many ways my spiritual home. Wonderful to see friends and people who have supported me in my vocation journey there, and to share in the parish lunch with them.

'Refused service again with my guide dog, I'm done speaking out' Sean Dilley is inundated with abuse on social media whenever he posts about discrimination issues.

This is both sad and infuriating.

incredibly funny that the church of england is falling to bits, the archbishop of canterbury resigned in disgrace, and his predecessor is just combing his eyebrows and murdering jordan peterson in the guardian. you love to see it

Hi friends, as we are new to this platform, we need to rebuild our network from the other place. Could y'all help us out a bit? A little bit of crowd sourcing can go a long way! Do share our profile with those in your networks who you think might be interested the Divine work we do here in Aberdeen!

Oh, and just as a reminder, the committee that will pick the Archbishop’s successor still contains a member who is named in the Makin Report admitting knowing about the abuse decades ago. He has not resigned.
