I’ll still finish the book, but I am BORED. I also realize this is just not my taste, it’s not for me.

I had to check and make sure the narrator was real and not AI.
As for the story, it’s the plain white toast of its genre. Halfway through the book and we still don’t know why the villain is the villain. It’s just his role. I can only guess that’s part of the Office style humor,
I tend to do audio versions of novels so that I can clean, knit, grind on video games, garden, etc while listening. A bad narrator can ruin everything. The narrator for this book has great character voices, but anything that isn’t dialogue is mechanical and robotic.
