Denmark is returning 15% of its farmland back to nature The country plans to plant a billion trees as it transitions some farmland back to forests and peatlands.

Every once in a while, countries pass meaningful policies that can really accelerate needed shifts

In less than 24 hours, Hurricane Milton exploded in strength, with speeds doubling, going from a Cat 1 to a Cat 5 storm. All because of the record-warm temperatures in the Gulf of Mexico. Don't listen to anyone saying climate change isn't affecting hurricanes.

‘Who Cares If Miami Is 6 Meters Underwater In 100 Years?’: HSBC Executive’s Incendiary Climate Comments A senior executive at HSBC bank has claimed that “investors should not worry about climate risk,” sparking widespread concerns about the financial sector's real view of the climate crisis.

On the BP news, remember when an HSBC exec said "who cares if Miami is six meters underwater in 100 years"? This was a valuable insight into the decision-making process of corporates. Which is that there are no short-term financial incentives for mitigating climate catastrophe.

In 2023 more people than ever before are becoming aware that #BigOil knew exactly how dangerous their product was for human civilization & covered it up, denied the science & delayed our #ClimateAction for immense profits. Now that our cities burn, shouldn't they pay for it?

September 2023 Temperature Update 🔥

Warmest September & largest anomaly ever measured, shattering previous September record.

Warming since August concentrated in polar regions.

Near certain that 2023 becomes the warmest year.

Likely 2023 exceeds 1.5 °C.

I’m still very much figuring out Blue Sky, but who here would be interested in some tips on lowering your digital carbon footprint? Is that something that would be received well? Or should I not spread awareness and keep it for other socials?

These cities will feel climate change's effects the most The whole planet will feel climate change's impacts over coming decades. But some cities will see more dramatic changes in temperature or precipitation than others.

"Unchecked climate change will drive temperatures up dramatically in every one of the 2,500 locations studied [...] The Arctic, for example, is heating up roughly twice as fast as the world on average, and its winters are taking the brunt of that warming."

Millions of people are already being forced from their homes each year due to climate change, and that number will quickly rise. We need to slash GHG emissions NOW to stem the tide of this humanitarian and refugee crisis.

We as humans do not need to be aware of every tiny bit of health data about us, we do not need to be connected 24/7, and we absolutely do not need to be constantly reminded by notifications. I’ve been living a much happier and peaceful life since ditching my Apple Watch (4/4)

Since doing that, I’ve first allowed myself to enjoy some of my mechanical watch collection and second been able to identify if the Apple Watch was causing more harm than good.

The short answer is: yes, it was 100% a big source of stress and anxiety in my life.

My thought was:
“How will I know I hit my activity goals, or how long this hike is?” And those thoughts always kept me from embracing my love for peace, and my longing to wear a mechanical timepiece.

A few weeks back, I decided enough was enough and I put my Apple Watch in a drawer(2/?)

Recently, I took a dive into a personal reflection… was an Apple Watch a source of stress/anxiety in my life?

I’ve always been a watch nerd, I love watches and horology. I always found it hard to wear a mechanical watch in the last 6 years of wearing an Apple Watch almost exclusively. (1/?)
