Trump is trying to politicize our military so he can militarize our cities.

Do not let Trump normalize the militarization of our society. Veterans need to step up and speak out.

No one should fear for or lose their life because of the ideas they express. I condemn the murder of Charlie Kirk—and every American should.

We should all call to mind how Evelyn Beatrice Hall summarizes Voltaire:

“I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”

Trump very well may be the first president to violate the 3rd Amendment.

If elected officials and the people resist, we can federalize the National Guard to support the ATF in its duties and deploy active duty Marines if needed.

Will you support the military in our cities then?

We could eliminate all gun violence by banning all guns and expanding and empowering the ATF to indefinitely detain anyone, without due process, suspected of owning a firearm.

What about the 2nd Amendment, you might ask? Well, ask migrants what happened to Article I, Section 9, Clause 2.

A federal court ruled that Trump’s deployment of active duty Marines and federalized National Guard units is illegal. But not only is it illegal—it is antithetical to democracy.

If you support using the military as police, how many freedoms are you willing to surrender in the name of security?

The question of election reform is a question of whether we ought to protect the political advantages of wealth or reduce them.

Our elections have become so devoid of meaning and substance that campaign contributions now serve as the only metric of viability and success.

I implore my fellow veterans to join me in demanding the same. The American people need us right now. The heroes of our past wars must not remain silent in our stormy present.

Our oaths compel us to speak out.

I led Marine infantrymen in Afghanistan, Africa, and Eastern Europe. I held multiple roles in the Pentagon. And I demand an immediate end to U.S. troop deployments to American cities—a statement that should equally perplex and appall every American as to why it must be said.

Veteran voices matter right now. Everyone who served knows active-duty troops have no place conducting law enforcement or military operations on U.S. soil. The most lethal fighting force on the planet does not belong in American cities.
