The campaign has been about one week in real world time- four hour sessions that happened three times throughout the week. So, campaign over, they all get up and get into Eddie’s van- they have a funeral to get to. A final goodbye to their babysitter.

There’s a somber air around the party, and they know that there is going to be at least one character die this session. Our hero’s fight valiantly, but they still lose their paladin, Dustin is near inconsolable. The rest of the characters finish their quest, but no one is celebrating.

the fic goes between full DND scenes, like the characters fighting and such, and back to the real world. This is strictly Eddie’s view, it’s post Vecna, and he thinks about times he saw Steve previously, but doesn’t mention seeing him since at least the campaign began.

Eddie POV, he’s DMing a campaign- and there’s a new deity. A deity that is very obviously based on Steve Harrington. The party watches as Dustin chooses to be a paladin of that very deity.

But time after time everyone sees it. It’s after Robin gets a candid of him at work while Eddie is visiting that it all comes to a head. The flash goes off and Steve’s face pales, expression dropping as his head whips around to look at her. Betrayal flashes across his features as he sees the camera

suddenly there is any reason in the book that he has to walk away. He’s just out of frame, a book is in front of him, whatever he can do to hide away from the flash. It’s confusing. He used to take so many, so why does he shy away now? Shy and Steve Harrington don’t belong in the same sentence.
