How many times do you think it's acceptable to delay ?

And especially without telling in details what's going on (in a hypothetical scenario, if the artist has some serious health condition but they don't want to tell about it because it is quite personal)

I'm personally quite private as a person and I don't want to look like I'm complaining or looking for excuses, but also if anything in my life needs me to delay work, you can be certain it is not a light issue 😓

But I get that other previous negative commission experiences could instill doubts...

for the commissioners: would you like to know or do you (respectfully) don't really care about it and just need to know about possible delay ?

my mom taught me there's two kinds of businesses: hot dog stands and art galleries

- hot dog stands protect territory and keep competition off their turf
- art galleries benefit from more adjacent art galleries, cluster together to amplify reach/support

Artists wont believe they are worth money until u give it to them. They know what it's like to not have much, & hope everyone can afford their art. SHOW them they CAN ask more. Don't just Tell them.

When you work on a comic you are also working on toning down the perfectionistic side of yours: you'll learn the hard way that not every panel or page will be perfect (especially in the early chapters) or else you'll never get your story done. Your art evolves just like your story!
