This is why I question the priorities. Because bots dont pay bills. Visitor counts are currently falsifiable. The growing preference for empty, low-effort Patreon billboard worlds over actual content apparent on the world lists is turning this place into a dead mall.
I once spent over a year building a “next gen” driving world. But because of these “priorities” allowing exploits, it failed hard on release night because an empty copycat with a broken vehicle and an empty terrain sucked away most of the potential players.
This has probably happened to others.
Does one of the more important things involve making it harder to exploit rapid instance creation to make a world look like it has hundreds more players in it than it does? Because this has probably killed dozens of breakout hits like FISH before they could get anywhere by making them undiscoverable

The subtext here is VRChat has been killing its potential breakout hits like FISH for the past 3 years because world discovery overwhelmingly prefers worlds with no explorability, emergent spaces, movement, or content. FISH is what VRChat could have had, but hasnt until now.
VRChat FISH may be the best thing to happen to VRChat in years.
FISH shows that large worlds full of content with emergent social spaces and social driving are not a vestige of the past.

The fact they did this (dumb and unnecessary thing) instead of something about how the boats put VRC’s absolutely horrendous character controller on full display for everyone to see really shows how extremely little management understands the platform.
