It definitely makes sense that the top 6 vs 4th line roles make him more prone to reckless hockey when playing the latter. But even just last night it looked like he finally molded his game prior to the stupid elbow. He can progress as a hockey player.

i think a lot of it has to do with usage. the majority of his games in hartford this season have been in the top six, outside of a couple of interference penalties & a high stick penalty he hasn't really done much. i think the 4th line minutes make him feel he has to do something & its unnecessary.

I would do that. Ride the hot hand for game 1. Plus Igor got rocked in the previous Devils game (which I attended 😢)
