A comparison between the old and new animation style for Shrek.

I personally like the new style in #Shrek5: they're older, it would be strange to see them exactly like 15 years ago.

But I'd love to hear your opinions, animators especially!

Now, I feel like it has a proper home: a place where all the time spent crying, punching the wall, studying and practicing night and day finally makes sense.

My music has lived moving inside my mind, and fixed on endless loose sheets in every corner of every home I've been in these past ten years of studying, exploring and researching what could I do in order to get it finally out there.

A page from my diary on which I drew a little helicopter in the sky, and below it the following lyrics from the song Hello Helicopter by Motion City Soundtrack: "Hello helicopter, have you heard the news?
No one gives a shit about the things they do
We all waste and consume
Destroy and ruin everything we touch
It's easy not to think when you're not told that much
Hello helicopter, are you lost out there?
Swimming through the garbage dump that fills the air
In several years no one will care
They'll be rich and dead
So let somebody else devise a cure for it" Album cover from "Even If It Kills Me" by Motion City Soundtrack

Especially during these times of eco-anxiety, fears of political chaos and overall disullusion towards everything, music comes to me and speaks louder than everyone else.

I always found difficult to name my favorite song, but now I know. "Hello Helicopter" always comes to me in time of need.

Panel 1: Mark Zuckerberg stands on the stage at a Meta all-hands meeting, wearing a little chain and a shirt that says "Cool Dude." "I think our company could use more Masculine Energy," he says into a mic. In the crowd, an employee raises their hand. "Excuse me, Mr. Zuckerberg," the person asks. Panel 2: The person stands up, asking, "By "Masculine Energy," do you mean a mature definition where men in power use their relative strength to protect and uplift those less privileged?" Panel 3: The person continues, "โ€ฆor a more childish definition where men in power are free to be aggressive and harm others without being held accountable?" Panel 4: Zuck stands silent for a beat. Panel 5: "You're all fired," he says.

A picture of David Lynch while directing. He says into a megaphone: "Okay, let's try again, but this time good".

I discovered you later in life, David Lynch, but appreciated you instantly. Your genius pierced me with a blade made of dreams, sharpened by hope and kindness and decorated with a healthy dose of madness. The madness that only visionaries can gift to others without any shame at all.

A frame from Twin Peaks. Agent Cooper's talking in his recorder, saying the words "What's the point of anything, Diane?"

I'm devastated after hearing about David Lynch's passing.

Thank you, for ever.

Thank you for sharing your vision with us.

I hope you'll still help Angelo write endless amazing music, wherever you both are now ๐Ÿ’š

I'll forever cherish Twin Peaks as one of my most powerful sources of inspiration.

A shot from the movie "Nosferatu" (2024): a close-up of Lily Rose Depp starring as Ellen in 1800's clothes. She stands in a narrow town street in the snow.

I finally watched Nosferatu yesterday.

As a gothic horror lover, I could just sit in awe of Eggers' mastery and the use of light and colors ๐ŸŽฌ

It's seriously one of the best #movies I've ever seen.

A photo of the left bottom side of an open MacBook laptop, with an open notebook at its side where notes about the author's music research are written.

On Saturday we do research โœ๐Ÿป

I'm investigating the relationship between music and sound design in video games, and how it affects the visuals and the narrative.

I'm in my final year of my Master study and I'd love to share here this part of my artistic and academic journey ๐ŸŽถ

The more I work on my anxiety, the more I understand why we feel small and irrelevant sometimes.
We tend to put ourselves in small boxes, just to have a space we can feel safe in. But it's only a fake safety that prevents us from admiring the beautiful world that every person is within themselves.

I love having composing sessions like this morning. I got up with a melody stuck in my head and I had to work two hours on a piece before I could even start the day. It doesn't happen often, so I'm grateful for experiencing the spontaneity of art some moments between strict schedules โ™ฅ๏ธ๐ŸŽถ
