Elsewhere on social media, someone was complaining that the Senate is unnecessary and how most countries get by with a unicameral government.

So I wondered, if you combined the House + Senate to form a 535-member Congress, then reapportioned it, how would the size of each state's delegation change?

As of this morning there are 14 confirmed fatalities and 9 people remain missing.

I have a site visit scheduled for next Tuesday afternoon to get the process started for getting electricity to my new house on The Farm. But, the manager I spoke with said that they're quite backed up and it could be February or even March before they can get power installed there. Eek!!

Well, it's a sad day for Lupe—and me. She's still with us, but her incontinence has reached the point that she is no longer allowed on any furniture. For the first time in several years, last night she slept in her kennel instead of in the bed pressed up against me. Her time left on Earth is short.

I woke up just a little after 4 AM and am now fully awake. Bladder said "Well, while you're up..." but that's not what woke me up. It's windy outside, but the radar does not show storms in the area. I think maybe I just got too hot? I've woken up sweating a few times lately.

You need to shave that bare and lock it up.

That's like the entire city of #Anchorage moving here in the last 12 months, or half the population of #Vermont or #Wyoming.

I wouldn't normally do such a thing, but yesterday (Sunday) I was kind of bored, so I got on my work computer and did about four hours of work.
The nice thing about it is that it buys me some time today to go accomplish things that can only be done during standard M-F 9-5 work hours. #WinWin

I woke up this morning around 7:30. Dinked around on my computer until about 8:00. Dozed off again, had one heck of an intense and long-ass dream, and woke up again at 11:30!

Holy crikey! How did I sleep in until 11:30?!?!? ... That dream was something else, though...

O the joy.... #132 is getting a new roof.

I don't remember it being replaced in 2014 after The Big Hail Storms of Doom, so that puts it at 15 years old. So maybe it does need replacing. But we're in for two days of noise plus nails in the street...

Captured a THIRD gecko in the house this evening. I'm getting really tired of the reptiles in here.

This one was small/juvenile and probably was able to crawl through a gap in the door. Unusually, this one was up on the wall in the hallway.

Looks like #Bermuda is going to experience a direct hit from #HurricaneImelda. ... Serves them right as they're the only place in the world to actually reverse same-sex marriage equality.

I guess their sense of decency, fairness, and human rights got lost in their triangle.
