I want an app that pushes the mundane stuff. Like, the more boring it is, the more it is favored by the algorithm. And the controversial click-bait gets buried. So like, you post a blurry photo of that tree with that one squirrel with the nub tail: Boosted. Then you post a meme about Trump: Buried.

Seems like using AI image generators is the new “boomer-on-social-media” thing. Which is probably a good sign.

Every time the Spotify Wrapped™️ happens, there’s always an artist (or an album) I’m excited about that doesn’t show up anywhere because I discovered them later in the year.

For me, that artist is Mei Semones, a jazz-influenced indie musician based in Brooklyn. Who was that artist for you this year?

I feel very similarly. The only helpful thing I’ve seen is that it’s better once you start following more accounts that you like. 🤷‍♀️
