The USTA's choice to turn the U.S. Open mixed doubles draw into an exhibition sideshow the week before the main draw begins is absolutely infuriating and demeaning to tennis players and fans alike. 🎾

Pretty terrible scene in Lille where Lucas Pouille was taken off the court in a wheelchair while leading 5-3 in the 2nd set of the final.

In the trophy ceremony, Pouille said he'll go for tests but fears it's an achilles rupture. If so, he said it's likely his final match.

Brief update: Victoria Police have responded to my query and told Bounces that “no arrests were made by police,” directing back to Tennis Australia for further information on the incident.

(And Tennis Australia, again, had declined to comment).

Just as Zverev is about to speak at the trophy ceremony, a woman repeatedly shouts:

“Australia Believes Olya and Brenda! Australia Believes Olya and Brenda!”
