Sorry! I had a senior moment and got the wrong day. Itβs very strange because itβs was Tuesday up to about 5.00 oβclock!

02.09.2025 17:06 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That brings back memories. I saw my first Western at Bristol Temple Meads in the early 1970s!
19.08.2025 18:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Very nice, and I like your sentiment. I don't rate my images complete until I've printed them. Despite a carefully calibrated and profiled workflow, I always spot things that needs re-editing after making a print. Images can often look good on screen, but a print often persuades me to reject them!
17.08.2025 16:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes, and it can be razor sharp as well!
31.07.2025 08:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβm glad to see you on my timeline, I kept wondering if you were alright, look after yourself!
28.07.2025 20:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You bonked!
27.07.2025 16:09 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I wouldnβt really know, but I did notice two that had closed. The Three Crowns is now flats.
20.07.2025 18:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I wanted to make that exact same point a couple of weeks ago, but I didnβt want to come across as patronising.
29.06.2025 18:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thank you!
29.06.2025 10:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The pictures you have been posting are both beautiful and inspiring. They suggest that you find some solace by making them. Perhaps you need to carry on, and a new purpose will emerge. I do best when I work on enjoying the process rather than fixating on the result. Don't be too hard on yourself!
28.06.2025 20:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thank you very much for providing the link, I appreciate it. I have read so much about the area, and it is information like this that enables us to walk through the landscape with different eyes.
26.06.2025 20:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes, exactly. I seem to remember that it was to prevent the population becoming βimpoverishedβ!
26.06.2025 18:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The 1860 OS map shows that a number of new Forest farms, estates and associated cottages had been established post enclosure. They had big families back then too. Also, the church was originally smaller, and has been enlarged.
25.06.2025 21:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That's very true. I suppose that back in the 1800s many people, from labourers to gentry, saw attending church as non-negotiable.
25.06.2025 20:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I had one too and used it a lot for documenting my granddaughter, but I always found it a bit frustrating. Whereas Iβve now had a 100V for about 4 years and I canβt imagine getting rid of it! Lovely picture, makes me want to be there!
30.05.2025 14:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I always look at art like this and think βhow did someone imagine that?β. So good, but I canβt explain why I think so.
29.05.2025 17:36 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Hi Dave. I remember the terrible subsidence at Bagworth. The ancient Norman church had to be demolished and was replaced by the NCB with one made of concrete panels. It looked like a colliery headstock! That soon crumbled and now there is nothing!
28.05.2025 07:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Lovely, all eight images caught my attention for more than a moment!
25.05.2025 18:30 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So lovely, beauty in the ubiquitous!
19.05.2025 16:49 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Last week I watched two stoats catch a rabbit. There was a lot of shrieking and jumping around before their mission was accomplished. Quite something to witness.
17.05.2025 09:43 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0I canβt wait, Iβll have to work out what Iβm going to do with them!
14.05.2025 20:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Or maybe just to say thank you!
08.05.2025 12:20 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Iβve been waiting for you to do this for the last 5 years. Great news!
07.05.2025 15:47 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Victorians claimed the view extended to Gloucester, Wales and even the "German Ocean"! A heliostat was once used to send messages to Lincoln. In 1840 there was a royal visit and "an hour was spent in the enjoyment of the wonderful prospect, of which her Majesty frequently expressed her admiration".
04.05.2025 12:01 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Some of us (not you), take too much for granted!
01.05.2025 12:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Commiserations Paula, Iβve got the same problem and itβs not pleasant! I think my feet have changed and my walking boots are now too small, which has caused a problem. Iβm driving up to Whalley next week for a custom boot fitting. I bought some Sketchers with a very soft footbed to use at home.
22.04.2025 20:23 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0They have been lovely this year. There is a large glade in the woods behind the stables, where the mansion used to be, it has been a stunning sea of yellow. Iβve never seen so many daffodils. The whole reserve, including Timberwood Hill is a very diverse and special place.
13.04.2025 20:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thereβs always a silver lining!
12.04.2025 18:17 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Exquisite!
