Canadian Doctors for Medicare Warns Albertans of Premierโs Plan to Undermine Public Health Care
Seeking to strengthen and improve Canada's universal publicly-funded health care system. Evidence-based, values driven.
We are very concerned about Premier Smith's draft legislation to introduce dual practice care into Alberta. This would lead to significant consequences to our health care system and to patients' ability to access care.
See our press release below.

Have you been asked to pay a fee to get services covered by Medicare?
User fees for medically necessary care are inefficient, unaffordable, and unfair. They turn a profit on patients at times of vulnerability.
They're also illegal in Canada.

Opinion: Attack on AHS reveals the failings of surgery privatization
While politically convenient to blame AHS, responsibility for surgical wait times sits squarely with the government.
New Edmonton Journal op-ed
โAnalysis of publicly available data, found no evidence to support Premier Smithโs claim. In fact, the research shows the opposite to be true.
Someone has been receiving more funding & not delivering resultsโjust not AHS.โ
