its easy to punish others but being kind takes active effort and care and until someone else shows you that its hard to know what it looks like. if you've been punished over and over even just being given kindness feels so alien. i'm thankful for all the kindness i can receive and learn from

i used to think i just, wasnt a "kind person" but i think a kind person is made by the kindness they are shown by others. if youve lived a life where you're not treated with kindness for a lot of it, you wont know how to be kind. the way to learn to be kind is to be shown kindness and love by others
