Shocktober 17: THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON (1954). Probably the only one of the classic Universal monster movies that would have been better in color. The titular lagoon looked like an oil slick. Still, the monster suit(s) they used were pretty great, and the story almost made sense at times.

Godzilla and I attended the NO KINGS protest in the Great Black Swamp. Chants were chanted; carhorns were honked; no buildings were smashed. We saw some inflatable beasts there: a cow, a dancing pig, and an orange T-Rex. A pretty big crowd—hundreds, at least, at the intersection of Main and Wooster.

This is my main takeaway from @aclu.org's recent training for protesters: if questioned by law enforcement officers, confine your responses to these five sentences. Otherwise, STFU. Five Key Phrases Am I free to go? I wish to remain silent. I do not consent to this search. Am I under arrest? I want to speak to a lawyer.

Pretty much every single one of these new government accounts is posting rage bait. It's possible (like 100% guaranteed) they are trying to provoke people here on purpose, so don't fall for it. Blockity block block block.

There seems to be a concerted, coordinated effort from the White House and various governmental agencies to join Bluesky en masse prior to the "No Kings" protest and flood the zone.
