It is less a matter of the technical tool you use, but how you organize your system. To keep everything together incl regular responsibilities and private commitments, look into the gettingthingsdone.com method. This includes scheduling regular review slots to keep oversight of all projects etc.

This is worrying when on the one side policy makers advocate guideline compliant practices but on the other side they are grounded on fake data. Recommendations should probably only included if results can be reproduced or replicated in other settings.
