The state will learn the hard way (they already have), but trust me when I say that even people who very much want mass deportation—they don’t want to see it happening violently in front of them at the store, schools, hospitals.

That deportation is for those criminal “blue cities,” not rural Ohio.

Ohio is still a purple state (47% blue even after extensive gerrymandering and likely heaviest dark money amounts flowing through the state.)

That said, people are dumb. Everyone selectively heard what they wanted from Trump and now ICE is acting like a paramilitary.

Among other heinous crap.

If Ohio is anything like Texas, they’re going to flip “safe red” counties and maybe even elect a dem gov.

People are very very very motivated to vote this year.

Ohio is 47% blue in 2024 (probably more now.)

With that information, half of the districts should be blue, not 4.

But the one thing about gerrymandering so hard is that it does weaken other counties.

And there are big statewide elections for the 2026 midterms that people want to vote in.

Gerrymandering makes liberal / left leaning people feel like their vote doesn’t matter outside of cities.
Which if you’ve seen Ohio’s maps, there’s 5 (now 4) out of 15 districts that are blue (Columbus, Toledo, Cleveland, and Akron.)
They’re trying to remove Cincinnati, and hold swing-county Dayton.

Springfield is 60,000 with 15,000 of that population under threat of deportation (1/4th of the whole city.)

Springfield is 26 square miles. 1000 ICE agents is 40 agents per mile.
