What a wild year this January has been.

Trader Joe's has a bunch of French onion flavored stuff, and I think it's a recession indicator because onions are cheap as hell peasant food but calling it FRENCH makes it sound ~fancy~.

Thinking about how the modern celebration of Christmas was born from a capitalist agenda to buy kids presents instead of helping the poor, and its evolution into a hyper-consumerist free-for-all of disposable crap, has helped justify my humbuggery and grinchitude for years.

Also, I don't know why I know so many people in that line of work. I'm a too snuggly a dude to know as many people into things requiring safe words as I do.

The problem with me being friendly, vanilla, and kinda stupid, but also knowing a lot of doms, is that, yes, I'd give you gifts and clean your house or whatever, but only because you asked and it'd be nice to do, and not at all for kinky reasons.

We can't lose hope, but we can't forgive injustice.

It's like a kid apologizing after being told not to hit his little brother before smacking him again. It's why it's vital to look out for each other and support our communities where we can; life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness won't come from going it alone, or asking for change from up top.

It doesn't give back the weeks that guy spent in jail, or the jobs back to people who got fired over shitposts. It doesn't bring dead unvaccinated kids back to life. It doesn't stop the administration from sicking troops on its own citizens or sending people to camps.

Thinking about when that guy was released after a month in jail for posting shit online, or when the secretary of health rescinded opinions on vaccines or acetaminophen, or when things are ruled unconstitutional, it's considered a victory for justice. But the damage is done. The example's been made.

I got a promotion at work, PR'd my half marathon time, was one of the first finishers in a recent cycling race, and was told by multiple women that I'm attractive, but the thing I'm most stoked about is accidentally getting a $100 pair of sunglasses for free in my $9 order of replacement nose pieces

I had something in my eye when ordering lunch today and accidentally winked at our waitress, so now I can never go back to that restaurant because I either came off as a creep or she's now in love with me and I can't handle either.
