It's very strange because they used to have a bad set up like this awhile ago, then they switched to a better model, but now they've gone backwards?

Turns out you can pay them via direct bank transfer, but it's not listed on their website as a payment option and is instead buried at the bottom of the email they sent me

account2account is explicitly against my banks terms and conditions

an online payment window with the heading "account 2 account" at the top. A text box explains that it wants you to log out of your other online banking sessions then provide your username and password to them.

What the hell Auckland council! I used to be able to pay my rates using direct banking using my phone number, now I have to sign in to some dodgy looking payment option which requires me to enter in my bank details?? and the only other option is to use card which charges a card payment fee??
