Privacy & AI PSA: As of Sept. 28, Anthropic's privacy policy requires users to opt out of data sharing, w/ a pre-checked box that defaults to sharing (e.g., you'll share your data to help train the model, unless you toggle off when you get the notice). Curious if EU folks have the same pop up?

I'm delighted to share that my article, AI and Doctrinal Collapse, is forthcoming in Stanford Law Review! Draft at papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.....

Iโm excited to share my latest draft, developing a โdemand sideโ theory of AI to complement the supply chain and focus on emergent human interactions in, out, and via GenAI systems. Comments welcome! Available here: papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers....

01.05.2025 10:18 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0AI hivemind: Is anyone tracking updates to company privacy policies / GenAI ToS and whether there are correlations with legal and policy developments? Noticed a new Grok privacy policy on 4/25, and I'm wondering if it's a reaction to the Irish DPA or a signal of an upcoming product announcement.

16.04.2025 15:48 โ ๐ 16 ๐ 4 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The FTC has long been structured as an independent agency, and Humphreyโs Executor remains good law. Firing its democratic commissioners is a blatantly unlawful move, calculated to disempower the agency thatโs best-positioned to actually change business models and contend with AI and privacy harms.

03.02.2025 22:34 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0TFW you're both unbelievably grateful for incisive feedback on a draft and also wondering how on earth you're going to revise to account for it.
30.12.2024 18:23 โ ๐ 7 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0sigh. I also worry about the lack of referencing what has already been written on point! e.g., here: columbialawreview.org/content/ai-s...

21.11.2024 17:24 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Merci! Agreed there's a rich tradition of journalistic coverage . communication scholarship to pull on. I'm wondering about a slightly narrower question: studies on conflicting reporting on the exact same AI development. (And it's totally possible I've missed something -- there is so much!)
21.11.2024 16:22 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Seems like an under explored aspect of AI benchmarking and measurement efforts. Because AI is a sociotechnical system, the way that we report on the technology's integration into society -- especially in high-stakes settings -- matters.
21.11.2024 15:37 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Random AM AI thought: Has anyone studied the way that different media outlets cover the same AI developments?
