While I agree, I don't think isolating ourselves from public discourse is the solution

If my goal is to reach people and share actual educational content free of charge, I have no choice but to engage on mass social media platforms

Raise your hand if you're sick of the internet being filled with

1) liars and grifters
2) fake AI slop
3) bogus conspiracy theories

Resist it by engaging and boosting truthful, fact-based content. We have to act deliberately to retrain the algorithmic gremlins

Your thoughts?

Hugely important new data here, I need time to digest it (πŸ™ƒ), but this kind of detailed contextual work is EXACTLY what we need to avoid stereotypes that #Neanderthal body processing & cannibalism were simply "brutal massacres"

Fake history is not a hobby for nerds ... it is more important then you might think.

One of the cruelest tricks society played on creative people was planting the idea that being proud of your work is somehow unseemly and egotistical.

You made a thing! You like it! You SHOULD be proud of it. Brag all you want!

The Guardian view on falling net migration: political debate is now detached from the facts A fixation on reducing numbers leaves no room for rational discussion of what that means for the economy and society

'Net migration has in fact been falling since before Labour came to power last July, and yet there has been no end of demand for ever tighter controls and no end of government acquiescence.'

Another comment worth sharing (one of many really) from my latest video. This one really emphasizes the impacts of both the doomsday aspect of fake archaeology AND the importance of revealing it to the public

Thanks to all who have bravely spoken up and shared their journey

Etruscan tunnels are deeply interesting (sorry) and β€œthe first complete mapping of the tunnels of the Etruscan city of Veii, a complex underground system comprising galleries, hydraulic structures, canals, cisterns, wells, and the large sacred pool” is now complete! cultura.gov.it/comunicato/2...

and it's so prevalent and popular right now

i think this nihilistic bent is at the core of so many cultural issues we see in our world, and perhaps shows the key overlap between many of the problematic online cultures

In my view, Flind Dibble and Graham Hancock are in the same boat. And it is my opinion that whoever can't see this truth, is stupid. I'm not speaking about making money from content, I am speaking scientifically. Science and pseudoscience are literally the same thing. all science always turns out to be pseudoscience sooner or later. We are just too arrogant to admit it. What adds to the illusion is that people don't live long enough, so they spend their lives living under illusion that they are somehow an expert in thier field of study. There are no experts in anything, we are all equally stupid and we are always wrong about everything. I have a theory that what we call intelligence is actually stupidity. In this vast pit of wrongness and stupidity once in a while someone accidentally turns out to be right about something, and even then, we don't know why it is doing it's doing, because every discovery, since the beginning of history, is not knowledge, it is accident, pure luck in the sea of stupidity. So even when we discover something it is not truly a discovery, it is stupidity. The more we discover and "know", more stupid we become. 1000 years in the future, if humanity survives untill then, I dubt it, in my opinion humanity will die out in about 500 years, I'm probably wrong, maybe I'm not, I am too stupid to know, but in the case we are still there in 1000 years, all scientific theories we believe are true now, will be in the same category as the theory of flat earth. I don't believe in humen progress, I don't believe in humanity. Everything we do and know is the opposite of what we believe. What we see as good is bad and what we see as bad is actually good. Knowledge is ignorance and ignorance is knowledge, everything is the opposite, that's how disabled humans are as a species. Animals don't have it backwards, it is better not to think at all, than think in a way we humans think. We did not evolve from apes, apes devolved into humans.

The mental gymnastics here are revealing. "Science & pseudoscience are the same"

Pseudoscience "don't trust the experts" is a form of black-pilled nihilism

It's depressing. Our knowledge is constantly growing based on solid evidence, but grifters have brainwashed so many people otherwise

Fifteen years of ideological choices to strangle & gut the public realm - NHS to schools to social services to local museums - is what underlies the anger "tearing our country apart"; immigration is simply the scapegoat that the far right are pushing people toward.
Why can't Labour just say this?

Graham Hancock's absolutely wild Sphinx conspiracy theory from 1996. He claims a multi-millionaire from a secret religious sect had taken over archaeological work at Giza in Egypt.
