👉At the end of last week, Pádraig Delargy MLA confirmed he would not be seeking re-election as the Sinn Féin MLA for Foyle in the 2027 Assembly Election. He said he was standing down because he was moving “100 miles away” from Derry. He will continue as an MLA until the Election.

👉TUV MLA Timothy Gaston said he previously warned about this outcome when the legislation initially came before the Assembly. Gerry Carroll MLA said the rise is a “complete disgrace and shows that Stormont is completely and utterly out of touch with ordinary people.”

👉The Independent Remuneration Board has recommended MLAs receive a pay rise from April of this year. This would bring the annual salary to £67,200. The current level of £53,000 a year is less than what elected representatives earn in Scotland and Wales.
