When speaking about the racism players have to endure, it doesn't help that you let white players speak about said racism or going forward portray only white players on posters, matchday posts or social media.

The cumulative effect is that systemic inequalities in sports coverage mirror and reinforce broader patterns of racial inequality in society.

This selective visibility reinforces existing hierarchies and can perpetuate unconscious biases among viewers. It also limits the economic opportunities available to underrepresented players, as media coverage directly impacts marketability and sponsorship potential.

When certain ethnic groups are underrepresented in coverage, it sends an implicit message about whose achievements are valued.

Less coverage of players from certain ethnic backgrounds, reducing their visibility for sponsorship and career opportunities

Young girls from minority backgrounds need to see role models who look like them succeeding at the highest levels. This visibility can inspire participation and challenge stereotypes about who belongs in football.

When media consistently showcases players from all ethnic backgrounds, it normalises diversity in sport and helps audiences see athletic excellence across different communities.

Re racism in women's football. It's absolutely infuriating that media cover racism as cold as possible, but don't acknowledge the role media outlets play in it.

Representation shapes public perception and cultural narratives.

I think this is very interesting and need train of thought by Evan. I think we tend to forget the factor luck and uncertainty in games like these, as well the narrative that we have extreme winners and losers.

We tend to focus on absolutes and and hold people to that standard. Shaw's 24-25 season wasn't good bc she didn't replicate 23-24 season, or in this case: Beth Mead.

Not topping charts, doesn't mean you are not good or impactful. Mead is still a huge goal threat.

I'm such a chaotic person, I need to find structure to actually be able to thrive. I've been journaling, bullet journaling to be exact + writing poetry about my feelings. It helps me create order in the chaos.
