A red and white knitted hat with a ribbed brim, and color work snowflakes with skulls in the center. It has ‘ICE out now’ on the front, and a red pom pom on top Me (a white middle aged woman with short brown and grey curly hair, and glasses), wearing the hat from the previous photo (A red and white knitted hat with a ribbed brim, and color work snowflakes with skulls in the center. The latest knitting project! The pattern is Eat the Rich by Lanja Khon-Engheim, except I modified it to say ICE out now, and to be a bit bigger. The yarn is Kelbourne Woolens Camper, which is a fingering weight wool yarn 🧶

Meet Aurora! She is a deer that stands on 2 legs and is made of crochet. She's wearing a mustard color sweater that has light pink tea m triangles lines up in 3 rows around it. she also has grey leggings. Her skin color is medium brown. Clothes crocheted for the deer, from to left going clockwise: a long sleeve cardigan sweater made from dark green thread with gold mixed in, a triangle scarf made of light pick, boots with the bottom + foot cover part in mustard with light pink moving up the leg and a short skirt that is mustard color with pink asking the top & bottom. Introducing friends Aurora Deer and Owen Stoat! The patterns for them were part of the Hobbii Amigurumi Crochet Along in a December 2025.

I'm way behind on this holiday crochet along but I think it will be worth the wait because these #PicaPauxHobbii designs are gorgeous and so detail oriented! Aurora Deer has joined her friend Owen Stoat finally. #crochet #amigurumi

a crochet project pictured as a side view and looking like a tea pot. the colors and design are meant to represent Mrs Potts from Beauty and the Beast. she's made of cream yarn with a purple lid and details in yellow, teal and bright pink.

The crochet along for January was Mrs Potts! It's meant to be made with blanket yarn but I'm really happy with my smaller version as well. #crochet #amigurumi #amigurumiCAL

A crochet bag made to look like a cheeseburger. From the bottom up there is:
* a wide band of "gold" for the bottom bun
* a wide band of dark brown for a beef patty
* a narrow band of yellow with 2 triangles pointing down for a melty piece of cheese
* another wide band of dark brown for a burger patty
* another narrow band of yellow with 2 triangles "dripping" down for cheese
* a wide band of red for tomato
* a wavy band of green for lettuce
* more gold for the top bun attached to the main bag
* a rounded "cover" for the bag made of gold yarn to look like the top bun with off white "sesame seeds" added

The strap is about an inch wide and is crocheted in the same color as the bun A crochet bag made to look like a cheeseburger. This image shows the top of the bag lifted so you can see the whole project including some red "ketchup" ties that can be used to cinch the top closed

Focus has been difficult lately but when I saw this pattern I knew I had to make it. I loved all the details and I learned a new stitch - the strap is made using Thermal Stitch and I think it's going to hold up really well!

A great mug made of crochet with a maroon handle and a large maroon heart on the front. it has a brown top to look like it's full of hot chocolate and a small blob of white on top for the whipped cream.

The final #CrochetBookClub2026 project of the month is today - Hot Cocoa Day! The pattern calls for a face but instead I added a heart applique using this pattern: www.crochetleaf.com/basic-croche...

This is a scarf made of crochet to match the Nyan Cat meme. The long scarf part is a ripple of 1 row each of the rainbow: Red on top then orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. On one end there is a rectangle shape made of tan with a pink rectangle just a little smaller on top. the lock rectangle has small dashes of darker pink & white on top representing sprinkles. Together they are supposed to look like a pop tart. The pop tart has a gray car head on the bottom right, a great tail off the middle left and 4 small gray paws along the bottom. The face of the cat is square eyes and a mouth that looks like a capital E flipped with the long side down.

There's a lot of bad happening in MN right now so when my teen asked me to make her a #NyanCat scarf I dropped everything to make one. It felt good to make her smile!

A glass pint jar sitting on a table. It's got a cozy wrap around it that is white on the bottom 2/3 and then has a stripe of sparkly pink and one of sparkly purple on top. There is a pompom attached to the top and there is a face on the white part with black eyes and an orange "nose." It is meant to look like a snow person with a hat. A glass pint jar, with a candle inside, sitting on a table. It's got a cozy wrap around it that is white on the bottom 2/3 and then has a stripe of sparkly pink and one of sparkly purple on top. Here's the January pint jar cover I made for my mom. It's a snow person! Until you turn on a tealight and then it's a ... chick? lol She's got candy canes in it for now so the lighting shouldn't be a problem. #crochet #handmadegift

A glass pint jar sitting on a couch. There is a cozy type thing around the jar made of red with a white row around the top. In the middle there is a black row with a yellow rectangle over it. It's supposed to look like santas suit with his belt and a gold buckle A glass pint jar covered with a crochet wrap that is meant to look like a turkey. The main part of the jar is covered in brown. There are 3 ovals sticking up in the back, one in orange, red and yellow. The face is a small white patch with a yellow triangle attached for the beak and then the red dangly thing as well.

It looks like I forgot to post these pint jar covers when I made them last year. I'm trying to make one for each month for my mom! Halloween/October was a pumpkin. Here's the goofy looking turkey for November and Santa suit for December.

A crochet succulent planter. The pot is round and made from a variegated yarn in pinks, purples and teal. The plants are 4 different type of succulent in 4 different green yarns. It's a little crowded for my taste but since I had made all the pieces I included them all! Book cover for Whimsical Stitches: A Modern Makers Book of Amigurumi Crochet Patterns by Lauren Espy

This year for #CrochetBookClub2026 we're working through Whimsical Stitches by Lauren Espy. The group admin cleverly tied each project to a "holiday" throughout the year. The first one is today: Houseplant Appreciation Day! Presenting the succulent planter.

Crochet piece in dark blue. It is a rectangle folded over a railing. There is a hole in the middle where the user puts their head and it becomes a wearable blanket.

This week for #CrochetAway the theme is Let's Get Cozy. I've made 2 wearables that get use and this is one of them. My husband requested a wearable blanket and he picked out the yarn too! This gets regular use during the winter here. #crochet #handmade

A bedroom with a king size bed displaying my latest completed crochet project - a blanket made up of granny squares representing the books I read in 2025. Each one is unique and there is no sort of order, except that I attached them in the order I read the books. There are 99 squares (9x11) of 9 rows each

Ta daaaaaa! I am so happy with the final result of this labor of love! The randomness is something that is growing on me & I was so excited to start using the blanket already on January 1. #crochet #bookblanket2025 #grannysquare

My 2025 Wrap-Up from StoryGraph. It shows my first (Honey Girl) & last (The Christmas Tree Farm) reads as well as the longest (Iron Flame) and shortest (Your Black Friend). There are some stats and an example of a 5 star read from the year (And So I Roar). I didn't realize there would be so much info so I think in 2026 I'm going to try rating all the books I read. Crochet granny square with the following rows beginning at the center:
1 dark purple
1 light purple
1 dark blue
1 light blue
1 dark green
1 light green
1 yellow
1 orange
1 red
A rainbow!! :)

My book blanket needed 1 more square to even out the 9x11 square layout I was working on so I decided to make a rainbow one. This works because a) I love rainbows and b) LGBTQIA+ was my top tag for the year!

My final finish for 2025! Book number 98 is also a holiday one. I'm very proud of my reading accomplishments this year. I finished 2 reading challenges on StoryGraph as well as all these squares!

Audiobook cover of Bottom of the Pyramid: A Memoir of Preserving Dance for Myself and Starring in My Own Life by Nia Sioux Crochet granny square attached to other squares on the left/top/right.

This square has the following rows beginning at the center:
3 rows light yellow
1 row dark brown
2.75 rows variegated pastels of all colors (ran out and started the cream mid row)
2.25 rows cream

I've watched some Dance Mom's with my teen over the past year. After listening to Nia's book I think I might be done giving them my time. Nia was graceful in her story telling and I'm glad I was able to get her perspective.

Book 94 for the year.

This square has the following rows beginning at the center:
2 white
1 bright blue
4 variegated light purple to grayish blue
2 peach

I actually listened to this audiobook but I had made the square based on a different cover before I realized my error in StoryGraph and that's ok. :)

Book 93! This was for the prompt "About a woman ruler." It's by an author I read in 2024 as well and I enjoyed both books.

Meet Owen Stoat. This little critter isn't actually so little compared to other amigurumi I've made. It stands tall with dark brown body/head/ears other than a tan patch around the bottom of the head and a tan belly & arms. Owen wears a pink sweater with a white diamond pattern on it. Removable accessories include a long, cozy looking pink scarf and a beautiful floor length cardigan made of tiny white granny squares and a scalloped edge.

The details on my first Pica Pau pattern have me very excited to complete the other 3 in this kit as well as search out future patterns by this maker.

I bought the kit for the A Winter's Tale Amigurumi Advent crochet a long with #PicaPauxHobbii this year. Then I realized I had a LOT of Christmas crochet going on. So this got put aside but I finished the first one just before the holiday. Love it & can't wait to make more! #crochet #amigurumi

A small pink crochet crab sitting next to a mince pie ready for a snack! The crab has big eyes, 2 large claws (one on either side) and six small legs. The pie has a dark brown filling and a light brown/tan crust and star on top.

Life & the holidays got in the way of my crochet time but before that I did finish a couple more in the #AmigurumiAdvent2025 mcal. Here are days 11 & 12 - a crab & a mince pie. I hope to keep working through them all in the coming weeks!

A crochet cat sitting on a bench in front of a door with a glass window in it. This cat is unique though - it's light green, has a couple pink flowers on it and also little yellow "spikes" to make it look like a cactus!

When I saw this cactus cat I immediately thought of my friend Amy so I had to make it for her for Christmas. I can share it now because it arrived safely to her and she is happy with it!
