Yeeeup. Again, better late than never but when it feels like it's primarily for their own image once the tide has sufficiently turned, it's grating.

You can always help by supporting and boosting people on the ground doing the actual work and organising, you don't need to position yourself as a spokesperson as soon as you decide something is a low enough risk to your brand to speak out about it or get a photo for your socials.

No issue with people getting involved in causes late, everyone comes to this stuff in their own time, but irks a little when people who were in a position to say something are silent until it's professionally "safe" to speak and then use superficial involvement to bolster their own image or career.
