A scan of Next Generattion magazine's cover with a reptilian creature armed with various spiky looking weapons and, admittedly, looking impressively detailed for early 1997.

(Yes, this is an actual PC game screenshot)

It's totally UNREAL.

It's amazing to see how late the M2 was being primed as the new hot system - just a few months away from being cancelled and despite being a no-show at E3 the previous year.

Biffo gets absolutely ROASTED by his own pet budgie right in front of Buster.

Relatedly, every scholarly analysis of Toni Morrisonโ€™s โ€œParadiseโ€ that Iโ€™ve read has no idea what to do with how half of it is set in a convent with a sensuous painting of Catherine of Siena in it. โ€œThis represents patriarchy,โ€ say the scholars, who have no idea about the sensuous/Catherine I guess.

One of the more annoying definitional collapses is that of "camp" to mean bad art that can only be enjoyed as ridicule.

Isherwood included ballet as one of his examples of camp. Sontag included Art Nouveau, The Maltese Falcon, & Mozart as camp.

I was going to gloss this with its eighteenth-century sense, gambling, but we've returned to those being the same thing, haven't weโ€”

A four frame comics about the fact grandmothers read a lot of messed up fiction. First frame shows the Agata Christie's novel "The Big Four". The text reads: my grandmother read a lot and would often give me her books. There were the classics: . The second frame shows a period romance book with a woman and a castle. The text reads: "But most of them were, to my child eyes, unhinged." The book is about: 1910s romance, murder, Horny MC and Frigid Husband, cheating, 20% is wedding description, "they ALL die", and multiple wars. The third frame shows a book entitled "Blooming Iris" with a smiling woman on the cover, her hair flowing. The text reads: "I was fascinated by the insane, constant drama:". The book descriptions reads: "Dying farm", "A level of incest not seen since the birth of Charles II of Spain", and "She wants to DANCE ballet in ILLINOIS", "They almost all die". The fourth frames shows a book called "Ghost Twins". The text reads: "She was born in 1920, when the Eiffel tower was only 31 years old. To me though, she was forever young." The book description reads: "Woman solves her twin's murder WITH her twin", "Also incest", "More gore than in SAW".

Tweet from a character or creature named "Gunther Eagleman" that says "Chuck will fold this coming week."

Accompanying is an AI pic of Trump and Schumer playing what appears to be a game of strip chess. Schumer is down to his shorts and Trump is smiling at what he sees. Their setup is in the middle of a road, and for some reason, I guess because this engine is trained on a lot of Stan Kelly, the Statue of Liberty is looming in the backdrop dead center.

AI has allowed us a glimpse at a world where there are no institutional or talent barriers to becoming a political cartoonist, and it is DIRE.
