I don't have HBO so I haven't seen the show, but I do love hockey romance and the entire series is currently available with no wait at the library. Not sure if this is an HBO promotion or a Libby promotion but yeah.

Anyone else get Heated Rivalry from the library only to realize it's the second book in the series? Heading back to Libby to borrow Game Changers first.

Poster for the marathon that has a background of Glinda and Elphaba reaching for each other from a movie poster. Captioned "Run like you've been changed for good"

I saved my poster from last year for this weekend since I knew it would still be relevant. It might actually be more relevant this year since I didn't know the title for part 2 when I made it.

License Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – Official Website

This is incredible. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is available for school licensing.

I feel like this is really early for a show to begin licensing so it's incredible to see. Can't wait for the first student play to be presented.

I'm also going to speak with them about phishing scams but surprisingly I don't actually have any of those in my spam box to screenshot. Any images would definitely help me so thank you in advance.

Hand out from New York Comic-Con with thumbnails of comic book covers and a QR code that leads to https://sites.google.com/schools.nyc.gov/social-studies-and-civics/resources/comics-group
From Department of Social Studies and Civics.

Awesome resource from #NYCC. These are comic books for Social Studies and Civics in tons of grade levels and units.

They were giving out free printed copies but they said all the comic books are free in their digital library for all. So check it out.

Censorship (crossed out) is so 1984

READ FOR YOUR RIGHTS

BANNED BOOKS WEEK

Oct. 5-11, 2025

• BannedBooksWeek.org

Books should open minds, not close them. Yes, some content isn’t for every age but banning books altogether? That’s not protection, that’s censorship.

Dr. Becky on Instagram: "Last weekend, I watched KPop Demon Hunters with my kids. At first, it felt like one of those “sit back and enjoy the ride” movies. But a few minutes in, I realized it was about something much deeper. Rumi, the main character, hides glowing patterns on her arms - proof she’s “part demon.” Beneath her stardom, she fears this part makes her unlovable, unworthy, unsafe. So she hides it. That’s shame in its truest form: the fear that a part of us makes us unconnectable to others. The villain, Gwi-ma, doesn’t attack with weapons, but with whispers of shame: You’re not enough. You don’t belong. The turning point? Rumi shows what she’s been hiding - and instead of rejection, her friends pull her closer. Maybe that’s why kids (and adults!) are connecting so deeply. Yes, the movie is beautiful and the music is fun — but really, it’s about the dream every kid carries: Can I show all of myself and still be loved? As parents, this is where we get to take the story off the screen and into real life. Not with lectures or big “talks,” but with small moments of wondering out loud. Pausing the movie to ask questions, or even just reminding our kids in everyday moments: There’s nothing you could tell me that would make me love you less. If you’re not sure of the age-appropriate of the movie for your child, my suggestion is to watch the movie yourself first (you’ll get something out of it as an adult!) to figure out if it’s something you want to watch with your kid. You know your family best. The themes in this movie are too good to leave on the screen. So I wrote down the best moments to pause, the questions to ask, and the sparks to look for. It’s in the Good Inside library now. Members - it’s waiting for you! And if you’re not a member yet, this is just one of the kinds of tools we love creating for parents. 💛 I would love to hear your thoughts on the movie, so please share below!" 46K likes, 816 comments - drbeckyatgoodinside on September 21, 2025: "Last weekend, I watched KPop Demon Hunters with my kids. Photo of NYC skyline wiht someone holding up a translucent sheet showing where the twin towers used to be and the caption "Imagine all the people, living life in peace... John Lennon"

I grew up in New York, about 35 miles from the Twin Towers. On September 11th, we could see the smoke from our town on Long Island. Even now, 24 years later, the memories of that day remain vivid. We still carry the weight of that day and honor the friends and family we lost. #September11th

Baseball players don’t dance—unless they’re in Bananaland! #savannahbananas #bananaball #sports Baseball players don’t dance…well that was always the case with transitional baseball, but not in Bananaland. The first step was to convince the players to dance, and that was not easy. But once we found the right players, their dancing became a hit with the fans. That led to bringing on @dance_iz

I'm super excited that this weekend I will finally be going to see the Savanah Bananas play ball live. For #WednesdayWisdom I’m sharing a clip from an interview where Cole talks about how that crazy idea grew into what it is today.

Labor Day

Honoring those who keep this country running.

Labor Day is the unofficial end of summer. However, it's more than just a celebration of summer. In 1894, Congress passed an act to declare the first Monday in September as Labor Day, with President Grover Cleveland signing it into law. Honoring those that literally built this country.
