We are excited to announce a new clinical trial - adaptive therapy for metastatic ER+ breast cancer at Mayo Clinic AZ (NCT06525766). Adaptive therapy manages the evolution of the cancer to extend survival time and reduce toxicity (improve quality of life). bit.ly/4cehaWe

I was listening to the AI generated music of The Velvet Sundown as a thought provoking exercise. I think it is wrong to think of generative AI as being made by a machine, with no humans trying to communicate something. It is more like a melding pot chorus of humanity, and interesting as such.

What evolution can teach us about outsmarting cancer, with Carlo Maley
If you are interested in our research about discovering species with extremely low cancer rates or using ideas from integrated pest management to improve cancer therapy, ASU has a new podcast Lab Coat Optional that featured my work in an episode: www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8r0...

Science of Imagined Worlds: Evolution+Ecology for World Builders |Carlo Maley & Vaughn Aktipis-Maley
My son and I were interviewed by David Sloan Wilson about the article we published with Beckett Stearner on using evolution and ecology for world building in fiction. We also ended up talking about prosocial issues. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BS74...

Cancer Prevalence across Vertebrates
Abstract. Cancer is pervasive across multicellular species, but what explains the differences in cancer prevalence across species? Using 16,049 necropsy records for 292 species spanning three clades o...
We are excited to announce that a 10 year project to gather and analyze veterinary necropsy data to discover cancer prevalence across (292) vertebrate species has finally been published open access in Cancer Discovery @aacr bit.ly/40nCqmH #componc #cancer #AcademicSky
