#citscihelvetia is over, another great chance to learn, share and meet practitioners and researchers from Switzerland π¨π and all over the world π
I had the chance to present our project on #flood risk communication and get interesting insights on how to implement #citsci in sociological research!

Language is a barrier for non-native speakers accessing English #scicomm content and resources. But it's also a limitation for native English speakers who miss out on important work published in other languages.

Reading the interesting essay " #scicomm, politics and power: social justice perspectives" by Emily Dawson and @simonjlock.bsky.social
I'm wondering β does anyone have updated survey data on what languages scientists speak in different countries?

My first post on #Bluesky, moving from #X, was about Dr. Strangelove's final speech reminding me of #Musk... I wasn't wrong after all... The gesture, just like in the movie, was neither intentional nor unintentional, it was just a Freudian slip!

Rainy sunday, perfect time to set up my equipment for #editing and recording the next "On time" #podcast episode, part of the "Vaccination, a time machine" projectπ¬π€
As mush as I love audio as a #scicomm medium, I wish editing was quicker... Anyone planning to implement the next AI tool?π

There is no perfect social media, each platform builds on the strengths and weaknesses of the other. Let's make the best of what we have! Here's a "π¦ X π¦" I generated to represent this.

I agree, and also sociological research like the one of Observatories of science & society topics! For example, check out Observa, science in society. It's an Italian research group I collaborate with:) (their not on bluesky yet)

Check out this interactive graph about how different scientists are perceived by people with different political orientation in the US!
Mathematicians are perceived as trustworthy from both sides... clearly most people never had the chance to talk with a mathematician after a beer or twoπ

Very interesting! Any suggestions for similar data world wide or in non-US countries?

Interesting data about the public perception of researchers' communication skills: fewer than half of us citizens (45%) view research scientists as good communicators.
I'd be curious to know how are researchers' #scicomm skills perceived in Europe and around the world... Any suggestion?

Hi there! I am a researcher on science and risk communication at the University of Ferrara, working on various #scicomm projects! I just joined bluesky but I'd love to be part of this starter pack. My plan is to share (hopefully) useful data for sciommers around the world! Best from Italy:)
