Thanks @markavery.bsky.social - this time for publishing The Great Beaver Betrayal - my article on the Glen Affric beaver saga. As criticism mounts @naturescot.bsky.social must explain its decisions & rebuild relationships with conservation. @iolowilliams.bsky.social @raptorpersuk.bsky.social

There is something very wrong at the heart of NatureScot
SOMETIMES I wonder what sort of democracy Scotland really is
Tom Bowser of @argatyredkites.bsky.social sounds off about an unexplained delay in licensing a beaver release.
The restoration of our depleted fauna is hardly going to happen while regulators like @naturescot.bsky.social appear to dither, delay and prevaricate.

Glen Affric is ready for beavers. Why isn’t @NatureScot ?
The question on everyone’s lips as nature agency defies local community & stalls historic reintroduction.
Why is democracy being so blatantly defied?

Our nature agency @naturescot.bsky.social is failing Scotland's people and wildlife.

Who needs Canada? On the trail of Scotland’s secretive stars
Beavers and red kites abound at a Perthshire farm that’s helping rewild the country — and there’s enough room for the whole family to stay, writes Ashley Davies
With all this talk of beavers, here’s a reminder that @argatyredkites.bsky.social have carefully reintroduced some onto their land in Perthshire. It’s very easy to visit, have a look at them and learn about their impact on biodiversity.

Beaver releases into wild to be allowed in England for first time in centuries
Exclusive: Government to grant nature groups a licence for release of rodent species after earlier setbacks
Major news: UK government pledges support for wild beaver reintroductions in England! Well done to all of those who’ve fought so hard for so long to make this happen.
