I am happy with all the projects I've been able to participate in, but I wince at anyone aspiring to do it full-time from scratch rn bc I've had my heart broken too much on that front lmao.

also commissions are a grind. They can be fun, but still a grind if you do a bunch in succession. Cost of con tables/admission often vastly outweigh earnings, etc...

I think we were sold the idea that we could hit it big on patreon to pay rent, but Ive never have been able to consistently update that thing (nor do I promise to). Also any thing I have applied myself to "professionally" has been a temp contract or fails to pay in a predictable manner

Art has rlly supported some of my needs but has never been enough to fully survive off of. I've been a sort of consistent state of relying on student payouts and couch surfing. Only more recently have been able to relax with a breadwinner partner, and even then we live moreorso decent
