I loved it too! I read it for an undergrad essay in history of psych and it convinced me to pursue clinical psychology (and the philosophy of persons’ section changed my general outlook on life).

Motivational interviewing: A powerful tool to address vaccine hesitancy, CCDR 46(4) - Canada.ca Defines motivational interviewing and shows how it could be helpful against vaccine hesitancy. Highlights how it was used to foster vaccine uptake in a public health program in the province of Quebec.

In 🇨🇦 we implemented an educational intervention based on motivational interviewing in maternity wards & observed significant increases in newborn vaccine coverage.

If you’re interested in helping develop similar community-based approach across 🇺🇸, please reach out to me

New paper from our lab: osf.io/preprints/ps... Our brilliant grad student Megan Schultz used Bayesian cross-classified models to study how the frequency with which an alcohol use consequence is experienced correlates with the expected future likelihood + valence of the same consequence.

You know what’s nice about meta-analysis studies? They’re perfect. There is just nothing wrong that can go there and every single one is pure, informative, impact. In this new preprint, we valiantly sought to falsify this universally held belief. 1/7

I saw this on my feed and I am working on something somewhat similar, but for metas of sexual dysfunction interventions. Loved it! It’s a great read. Your discussion of different publication bias assessment methods was especially helpful for my own work.

Break time after another ‘successful’ (and I mean it - but sometimes don’t feel it) morning at my local library searching for and reading many articles to write far fewer sentences

Dr. Ruth Gottesman has donated $1 billion to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine with instructions that it be used to cover tuition for all students going forward. It is one of the largest charitable donations to an educational institution in the U.S. nyti.ms/3SQQuzS

One claim by critics of DEI/'wokeness' in academia that I find ridiculous is that there was a golden age of academia characterized by meritocracy, freewheeling debate, and so forth. Anyone familiar with how academia worked before the 90s knows this is nonsense. 1/3

Agreed, in my home province of Ontario (in Canada) the gambling advertisements on sports broadcasts are constant now - with little done for harm reduction. Ontario also recently legalized sales of alcohol in convenience stores, again seemingly for more tax profit without considering harm reduction
