Taylor Swift has spent her entire career making sweet love songs for nobodies, and bitter and/or melancholic breakup songs to somebodies.
I never even realized that, but his new album is REALLY putting into perspective for me just how key that particular dynamic has been to her universal appeal.
I'd argue that Taylor has been this way for at least her last 3 albums, and the only one that worked was Midnights since that one was frantic and scatterbrained by design.
I'm hope the problems of this one will make more people understand why I really didn't care for TTPD very much at all.
