Uzume and Sarutahiko later married and had children. They are both also associated with Inari and are enshrined at Fushimi Inari Taisha in Kyoto along with many other shrines.

The goddess Uzume stands on the left exposing her breasts, and on the right Saratahiko stands holding a hand to his forehead. The sea is visible behind, along with two other people.

Their passage was blocked by Sarutahiko, the leader of the earthly kami who did not want to relinquish control of the earthly realm. It is said that Uzume flirted with Sarutahiko to convince him to let them pass, even baring her breasts. Her strategy worked and they were able to pass through.

The Japanese goddess Ame-no-Uzume is best known for her provocative dancing that lured the sun goddess Amaterasu out of her cave and returned light to the world. In another myth she was asked to accompany Amaterasu's grandson Ninigi to earth where he was to become ruler.
