We ❤️ Katamari!!

My girlfriend Megan and I have been having so much fun playing the Katamari Reroll games together on Switch! She suggested I draw us our own little personas! We’re very excited for the new game coming out later in the year!

I got a Switch 2 last week to play Donkey Kong Bananza and I’ve been having a great time! Honestly way more hyped for the Switch 2 than I was for the original.

In the past three days, I’ve cooked my YouTube algorithm to be almost exclusively Star Wars lore explanations.

I don’t consider myself a real fan of any of the movies, but god this is not the first time in my life I’ve gone down a Star Wars lore rabbit hole.

Been listening to Rolling Stone’s top 100 albums just to try and experiment with my music taste a bit and … Metallica is not for me so far, haha.

My buddy Jared Corwin co-created an adult swim smalls series called Mayor Mochi, and I wanted to make some fanart of what I think he’d look like in the style of some other iconic talking dogs!

I had a few interviews with them, but they ultimately went in a different direction, and I think they ended up pivoting to live action TikToks instead. But they were very nice about it and sent me a few of their board games in the mail as a gift!

Sometime last year, I interviewed with Exploding Kittens, the board game company, about making animated TikToks for their social media. To pitch my concept, I drew this self portrait of myself and my cat Chicken Time in the style of Exploding Kittens’ illustrator Matt Inman.

I’ve been watching Craig of the Creek on streaming recently and I like it a lot! So I drew myself and my girlfriend in the style of the show , inspired by the roles we thought our younger selves would play in the creek!

Played Civilization for the first time tonight. Crazy how much fun I had being the most incompetent world leader for five straight hours.

It’s been a while since I’ve done a style mashup challenge, (even longer since I’ve drawn traditionally!), but I went to a local drink-and-draw in the area recently and I thought this idea would be a fun exercise. Cleaned up the drawing digitally after the fact to better sell the gag.
